Sonification 2.0

Anton Schertenlieb’s proposal to do a Ph.D. thesis on Social Sonification has been accepted at UC. This thesis will involve the development of a social site modelled on the www.many-eyes.com visualisation site. The DNA sonification competition website for ICAD 2009 also provides an initial model www.icad09.dk.
This week Alexandra Supper came to visit from Maastricht University where she is writing a thesis on social and cultural aspects of the sonification research community. Among other things we discussed the kinds of data that would be interesting to collect from a social sonification site.
We will all get together at ICAD in Copenhagen and workshop Sonification 2.0 further.
